Screech’s Night Owl 5K

Ready, Set, GLOW! Join us on October 16th, 2026 for Screech's Night Owl 5K & 1 Mile Fun Walk at Harford Community College! This fun event takes place at 7:00 PM in the evening to allow our runners the opportunity to wear glow items, glow in the dark clothing, etc. All proceeds from the event support Athletic Scholarships for Student Athletes at Harford Community College.

At Harford Community College, our student athletes are at the top of their game, on and off the court and field. By participating in one of Harford's thirteen NJCAA sports, they make a commitment to excel not only in their sport, but in the classroom. Harford's student athletes accomplish great things during their time with us and beyond–they excel at giving back to the community and many of our students transfer to a university to play at the NCAA level and earn a bachelor's degree.

VIRTUAL RACE OPTION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local, or are unable to attend the in-person race. Here's how the virtual race works:

Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
Unfortunately we are unable to mail any of the virtual race shirts. You are able to pick up your shirt at the Packet Pick-up location listed below or your materials will be mailed to you post race.
You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the race "starts" on October 16th.
Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by October 18th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media.

*Virtual race performances are not eligible for the event awards.

Event Cancellation:
This event will be held rain or shine! In the event extreme weather prevents the race from taking place it will not be rescheduled and registration fees will be considered as a donation to the student athletic scholarship fund.

Know Before You Go

THE FOLLOWING WILL PROVIDE YOU SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION AS YOU PREPARE FOR THE UPCOMING EVENT AT OUR VENUE.

Parking: Parking is free! Simply park in a lined, non-permitted space, and if you park in a handicap space, you must have the appropriate hangtag displayed. Click here for a campus parking map.
Patron /Competitor Entrance: Signage will be posted at the front entrance of the venue noting where competitors should enter. All other patrons should use the main entrance. Please see event schedule distributed by your event contact for specific schedule information.
Prohibited Items: Please take note of the following items which are NOT permitted in the Arena. A full list of prohibited items can be found here.
- Strollers will be permitted at this event due to layout.
Tobacco & Smoke Free Campus: Please remember that Harford Community College is a SMOKE-FREE/ TOBACCO-FREE campus. This includes the arena, around the arena, and our parking lots.
Accessibility: The Arena provides a convenient drop off and pick up area at the main entrance of the Arena for guests. There is an elevator in the Arena if you wish to use it. Please contact the Arena ahead of time (443-412-2189) with any accessibility requests, concerns, or questions.
